When I first met the Dietitian at Island Nutrition I was being forced to live on an almost a totally liquid or pureed diet due to IBS. My food choices were incredibly limited and eating out was almost impossible. I had tried every medication that my GP could prescribe and was at my wits at with the severity of the painful bloating. Shortly after we began the FODMAPS diet which has not only been a huge success for me in terms of symptom management, but has also has given me a better knowledge of my own body and a better concept of a ‘healthy diet’. The Dietitian is empathetic and very knowledgeable. She took into account a range of other health issues I had including hypothyroidism. Following her advice on my general health, I was able to measure how I felt on a day to day basis. I’m 2 months into the FODMAPS diet and my symptoms have dramatically reduced.

My Dr. referred me to a Dietitian to assist with loosing weight, as I need motivation. The first time meeting the Dietitian was as if we already knew each other. Every session is like meeting up with a girlfriend. She is easy to talk to and makes you feel comfortable. What I appreciate most is that she is honest. My first visit, she taught me how to balance my meals and advised me that if I follow the changes to my diet I would loose 1-2 pounds before I return in two weeks. I didn't believe her because she didn't tell me to exercise or cut out any of my favorite foods. During my second visit I was nervous to get on the scale, but to my surprise I lost 4 pounds!!! I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. This was a very alarming experience as my reading was very, very high. I was overwhelmed and had no idea what or how to eat (you hear so many different stories). I spoke with my doctor about using a Dietitian/nutritionist to help with this and they recommended the Dietitians at Island Nutrition. This was just what I needed I found her to be friendly and extremely helpful, she answered a lot of questions I had.
I have lost most of the weight I needed and my readings are now normal. I am comfortable when I go out to eat because of the information I received from her. The Dietitian also availed herself to be called or e-mailed between sessions if I had any questions. I will continue to look to her for guidance; especially during and after the Christmas season.

I am pleased to say that since my first consultation with Sarah at Island Nutrition, I have successfully been working towards maintaining a healthy weight gain. I have always struggled with losing weight, when I am under stress particularly or just even if I miss a meal. Roughly I have always weighed 100lbs even after having 3 kids, but since meeting Sara I have been proactive in managing my calorie intake in a healthy way, I have gained 8lbs in a month with a goal of gaining 5 more by the Jan 2017!!!

I have found working with the Dietitian at Island Nutrition to be such a Super-Positive Experience. For every Nutritional Session we have, I always get to leave with one or more motivating tips under my belt to work on/apply ... which is so great!
Also, the environment at Island Nutrition is nothing but positive, positive, positive!
Having attended nutritional sessions since mid-June through the beginning of December this year so far I have pleasingly shed 13 pounds, which certainly makes my heart and organs much happier and just re-affirms to me that {the tips given at Island Nutrition} do indeed play a huge role in obtaining weight loss success and causes me to be healthier/happier version of myself!

After a long period suffering with symptoms of IBS, I asked my GP about referring me for nutritional advice. From the first consultation at Island Nutrition the Dietitian immediately put me at ease and I was impressed by her knowledge and professionalism.
